Please Help!
My husband will not go to the doctor about this but I need to know if this is serious - He drinks very little but he gets very sick after - severe stomach pain and vomitting blood. He has constant heartburn and complains of stomach issues all the time. Is this just a sign that he should quit drinking all together? Or is it a sign of something more serious? Please, I need some clues as to whether or not I should force him to go to the doctor or not.
Thank-you!

This could be very serious...
This could be very serious. Your husband might be having Esophageal Varices (swollen blood vessels in the food pipe) which could be the cause of his blood in the vomiting. Or he could be bleeding from the Stomach lining . Both can be potentially life threatening. This is usullay seen in chronic (long term) drinkers.
Stomach pain after drinking can be due to Alcohol Induced Pancreatitis which again is a serious and potentially life threatening condition.
Please see your doctor/gastroenterologist immediately. He might advise liver function tests, endoscopy (upper gastrointestinal endoscopy) and CT scan of the abdomen.
Best wishes.
