How do we know what is true - evidence based medicine
It appears to me that many people do not think about what the evidence is for the claims that are made regarding various medicines/treatments/natural remedies etc.
Personal examples include
- its better because its natural
- you don't get side effects from natural compounds
- because this has been used for centuries we should accept that it works
In each case there are clear examples where they are wrong - yet people just accept them. Why?
What is the solution to ensuring people thing before they accept the satement ?
I'd like to generate some thoughts about how we can know what is true in the context of health/medicine/natural remedies.

do we know?
I guess for alot of meds we are just guinea pigs...trial and error so to speak.some meds are not for all. what works for one doesnt always work for another, but we dont know til we try.my opinion is I think there is just too many prescriptions handed out when an alternative med can help instead..cheers....
