Strange, this is a time when it is hard to find a person who does not know about this! Well there are enough reasons to be aware of this so I would suggest that you simply enter this name in Google and see what the search result yields! If you truly dont know then you are in for a shock!

H5N1 is commonly known as the "Bird Flu" or "Avian Influenza." It is the H5N1 epidemic that killed tens of millions of people in 1918. At the time, most governments were censoring news to keep morale high during World War I, and so the only country that admitted to the epidemic was Spain, hence the name "Spanish Flu" at the time.

What makes H5N1 particularly worrisome is that it spreads as rapidly as the swine Flu (the N1 marker) but is far more virulent (the H5 marker). The H1N1 "Swine Flu" is easy to catch, but tends to be a light to moderate flu case (although it does not feel that way when you have it). As long as you keep your temperature under control, you should survive. Just don't let a fever run over 104F where it will cook your brain.

Most Flu cases are caught by inhaling airborne droplets that were coughed or sneezed. Swine Flu is thought to spread most commonly by virus that was exhaled onto moist food, which is then consumed by the victim. It is a fair guess that the H5N1 bird flu would also spread via food.
