Sorry but...........your list is not very good
Cable modems and DSL are not interchangeable. Also some folks are running off of their company server, eg T1. There are many ways to connect that you should add. Even wireless is different. The only thing these (what I listed above) have in common is that the are all "high speed" internet connections.

internet connection
When you use Connection Sharing, you can share one Internet connection between two or more computers. Before you install or use Connection Sharing, you should contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or read your ISP's. Our webservers live on fast, secure network multi homed to internet backbone via BGP-routed DS3 and OC3 circuits from Sprint, ATT, Global Crossing, and Big Pipe Communications.

I just got the 12MBPS version of Qwest fiber-optic, which is fiber-to-the-neighborhood.
Speedtest.net rates it 10.3MBPS.
In this area, Qwest also advertises a 20MBPS version.
No cable company, no holes drilled in the wall, no big ugly cables.

No one knows when the Internet will fail. It could happen at any time, leaving you bereft of your e-mail, your sports scores, and your Blogs. Therefore, it’s important that you and your family have a contingency plan for just such an emergency. If your connection to Cyberspace were to ever get severed, you should at least be prepared. We have included a few key points that should assist you if that were to happen.

I am using airtel for many years now. The good part is that I can really don’t remember calling customer service for connectivity issues. However, for quite few months they have been quite aggressive in selling their speed on demand. As soon you are done with the high speed quota you are redirected to a page where you are given a choice of buying a package or continue with the same plan. However, it’s not actually a choice, you are redirected to this page on daily basis if your choice is to continue with the same plan. Isn’t it a pressure tactic ?
