I have been working as an In-House Biomed at a fairly large facility. A couple of positions have come open locally that I have a pretty good change of getting. One is working for Abbott Diagnostics (lab equipment) and the other is working for Tomotherapy (linear accelerator/CT scanner). Tomotherapy is a startup company with promising growth. They have a patented method of delivering radiation therapy. All sounds good but there is always the uneasyness of a start up company. I have heard from so many FSE's that worked for companies that were aquired by the Borg(GE) and were given a lower salary and forced to move or quit. They both pay around the same but I am concerned that the Lab equipment side of Biomed does not pay as much as the Radiology/Oncology side. Ony opinions on Abbott ot Tomotherapy would be greatly appreciated.
