View Full Version : Tailbone Pain/Coccydynia
I am looking for some direction with tailbone pain. No one has any answers. I have heard of removing the Coccyx, but that doesn't seem to be a solution because of the recovery period and future problems. There are many people who have pain in their tailbone due to different reasons, but no one seems to get relief. I don't believe that I have ever fractured the coccyx, but my pain is very real. It is hard to drive and sit still for more than 10 minutes. I can bearly get up from a sitting position. What's more it is very embarassing to talk about. I don't want to sit on a donut for the rest of my life. I don't know why this happened to me. I did not fall or cause injury to this area...that I know of. Both of my children were born c-section(10 & 12) so I know I didn't injury it during childbirth.
If anyone has any suggestions, please advise.
In pain every minute of every day........... :(

Hi,
Not only injury or trauma can cause a pain. Long and acute inflammation may have such effect too. You need to see your doctor.
I was also in pain several years ago due to inflammation in my tailbone as a result of a sport injury. I thing the best think to do is to consult a chiropractor as well.
